But then again......

Something that's still bothering me from point 2 is that he clearly was present when Xavier exposes what was done to him in his confinement so the fact that he thought the carrier was being pampered was still a little suspicious. Especially since we can see that he openly show hostility against Resoom. Not to mention the fact that he was in the resistance albeit for who knows how much shorter than the rest.  But like I said this is just my paranoid brain talking, for all we know Titania might actually be an antagonist, heck maybe Xavier is just straight up the boss of Resoom or something (alright now that's just stretching it). Well the possibility is endless any how and I however things turn out to be in the future would be I'm excited to find out.

Honestly that's probably the most logical conclusion, but after act 1 I find it way more fun to come up with multiple possibilities for future events. You know,  not to take everything at face value.

But then if Lance's motivation really is jealousy (or part of it is) that would've been hilariously petty and very much enjoyable as well 馃憖

That is a lot of stuff of my chest 馃槍

An absolutely amazing experience!

The first act plot twist was so effective to the point where I can't help but actively try to analyze every part of the story that seems a little off. Soooo as a fruit of my amazement towards the story, I have concocted a theory regarding some mysteries currently in the story in particular about Xavier.

Spoiler alert up to chapter 14

Xavier is straight up suspicious.

Now before you debunked my seemingly outlandish theory, allow me to present a few reasons as to why I came to this conclusion.

1. Lance's seemingly dissonant view on the pristine carriers (and his history with being a glorified delivery boy)

Now you might be thinking, is there anything wrong with him? Isn't he just a backstabbing asshole?

The answer is yes and no.

First I need to remind you that Lance himself is present during Xavier's escape from Reesom and therefore knows what they are form the very beginning. Secondly, his decision to "sell" Xavier and his future acts of continuing to do so(as implied multiple times) are simply contradictory to point 1. Why did he keep selling them to Resoom if he knew that they're bad? One might think that it's simply because he's a selfish asshole, but other evidence suggests otherwise. This brought us to our third point, why did he envy the pristine carriers during the first interlude chapter? As someone who clearly hates the company and have known that they're doing some nasty stuff under the cover, one would think that he wouldn't want to be in that position, so what gives? This implicate that there might've been something that changed his views on the pristine carriers in between the time period of first meeting Xavier and "selling" Xavier to Resoom.

2. The white haired girl revealed at the end of the second interlude.

This dissonant is further proven by the fact that he's not surprised when he's assigned to guard a girl who is most likely a pristine carrier herself, that has been living with a sufficiently fancy arrangement underground.

We could conclude from this point that Lance himself holds a knowledge that the resistance doesn't, hence why he is insistent that THEY betrayed him rather than him betraying them (as evident by his wording from the prologue and the fact that he admitted that he was waiting for an apology from them for a long time) this suggess that he have a strong reason to think of himself as in the right.

3. Xavier's physical state during his initial introduction

When we first started act 1, it was shown that Cyrus isn't exactly in an ideal physical state (whether it's thanks to his head injury or nod is up to debate). But one thing that's weird is that even if Cyrus doesn't get his head hurt, he still needed physical rehab after being harvested for so long. Which makes it seems more unbelievable that Xavier was perfectly capable of just waltzing out of his confinement during a raid.

For now that's all I can actually think of given the amount of information we have.

And even then since most of this information comes from largely assuming that Lance actually isn't just a one time backstabber character,  it can be easily ruled out if it's revealed that he is simply just a selfish conniving bastard with no other motives other than money(but that's just a waste of storytelling opportunity in my humble opinion)

So yeah this is just me trying to get some stuff that seems odd to me out of my head, by no means is this a seriously thought out theory.

I know right?

You know who I'm talking about

Minor spoiler

I have a lot of question when I finished chapter 10 and after reading Mary's side story I can confidently say that I am thoroughly confused.

WHAT THE FUCK IS EVEN HAPPENING

but I kinda get why we need to have Isaac as our protagonist now, because everyone else seems to have this malicious quality on them and as shown on the side story, Mary have an apparent interest in Isaac in particular which is reinforced by the event of chapter 7 - 10 where we get a glimpse of how weird the world of this game is actually is.

Why does Daphne find it so weird for people to want to do the right thing? Why does everyone find the state of economy being held by one major power normal? Why does the name Pandora and Prometheus not trigger a red flag on people if the world of this VN is based on the real world but is diverged at some point in the timeline according to what we're already shown so far?

Amazing writing

Oh right I'll add a spoiler warning

But then again it's not a major one as it does happen in other path we just get to see it from another perspective

Minor spoiler

It cracks me up how the first thing Haruki does after hearing suspicious sounds which made him assume that Yuuichi and Shoichi is boning in a closet is to come closer and listen like bro noooooooo

Hints for the last two pleaseeeeeeee

Just finished reading, your art is really gorgeous!

I really love the feels and aatmosphere of the VN, I've also read the first chapter of your comic that you mentioned in the afterword (haven't read the rest of it yet but am planning to) I really love your works!

I can definitely see how the game is influenced by Night in the woods and Firewatch.

I'm feeling really fuzzy right now and want to say a lot more but don't know how to convey them so I'll leave it here.

Excited for future updates!

ah yes that's right, bases on my experience you need at least 10 AGi, so be sure to unequip the winter clothes before the check if you don't have enough AGI

That's a good point, there's a high possibility that this is the same system as the trust system with Nauxus and Axel during the war.

What with the last option in the dungeon says that Rasmus will remeber it, probably meant that it'll be important in the future

There's another check, during the Rasmus book scene. No extra rewards whatsoever but it's pretty amusing

(1 edit)

It's not listed in the guide, but you can actually succeed in the hunting for ingredients quest on the snowy mountain.

There's a stat check though, idk how much agility you need but mine is ten.

Instead of getting 2000 exp like on the guide, the reward is 1 level up point. I hope this piece of info i find is helpful!

holy 9 skill points!?

Also that's the reason why I always lost moments before winning, I only paid  attention to when I crit, so my HP went down faster than the enemy's

Considering the fact that you get 5 skill points (according to guide) what's the most effective stat distribution without taking the future into consideration?

aaaah same, i couldn't upgrade my weapon because of those crystals

easy solution: get them all! :)

That's the best thing to be do if possible, but when we have to choose..........

And yes maybe that's the reason why the guide is not updated yet,. The choice with Rasmus could potentially be a spoiler if they put the answer is  in the guide

Yea i rely on the guide to check whether or not a choice or item is important like the  choice with Rasmus inside the ruins or the emblem that I missed on the auction

But it's not updated?

(2 edits)

I'm not smart enough to know how to get the necessary items and choices, I even missed one of the of the emblem in the auction and I have to load quite far back to get it

Ooo pretty nice so far, I wonder why it's difficult for furry puzzle games to get attention though seems to be a reccuring theme at itch.io

Especially this n newest update

I love the awkwardness in this, it's the kind that makes you feel giggly and curious. Not the one that made you say "I'm not dealing with this shit" kind of awkwardness

Holy this game is awesome so far, any estimateon whe the full game is going to be released? Already planning to purchase when it does

I mean.....

That library scene is probably hinting at something

So the only one who haven't had their horrible side revealed is Keisuke. Though Jun by far is the worst offender since the consequences of him refusing to be honest and open is pretty big compared to Shoichi

(1 edit)

It only make me like Shoichi even more, a constant reminder that dating isn't all fun and happy.

Discovering a new side of your partner, dealing with their family and revealing things that you used to hide from other is a very interesting and relate able thing for me

Any second

I really love the style of this game! Too bad it's very short but nonetheless it's a fun experience .

The story is ultimately very tragic in my opinion, at the and of the day the story didn't point anyone as the ultimate bad guy. ( even though being an alcoholic can't really be considered that good )

But I really like how the story unfolded

We're at that time of month where we either get a new update or get concerned about Monchi's mental health

I felt a lot of second hand embarrassment form this update alone, amazing writing Basket 馃憦

I love Jun route and all but I'm glad it doesn't end up being the sole route for this game, just because the fact that the incident is inevitable if it's the only route, that's just way too tragic.

*Impatiently patiently waiting*

Damn I forgot about that face, that hurts so bad

Thanks 馃憤

Nah it's not that bad, it's just a minor muscle sprain with a little swelling
